Cam's Burning House

Cam’s “Burning House” is not actually new, I know some of you are going to call that out. It was released last June. Sure, I know this, you know this, but song obsessions can occur for me at any time.

There are a few ways I can tell I am obsessed with a song:
1. How many times have I hit repeat?
2. How many times have I caught myself singing it in a day?
3. Has it drained or come close to draining my phone battery at least once in the week because I took it with me when I left my house?

Since Friday night, I can answer in order: Too many I lost count to 1 and 2, and 50 %. Yep, I am obsessed with the song. I am not too sure that is healthy, but, there are worse things in this world to obsess over then a beautifully written song sung by someone with a gorgous voice.

I did love this song back when I first heard it; Cam’s album Untamed hadn’t even been released yet. The airplay this song got! Cam’s debut album sold over 37,000 copies in its first week, a real feat, considering it hadn’t been done by a female country artist since Jeniffer Nettles did it in Feburary 2014 with her debut album That Girl. Cam’s Untamed also beat out the record that Sam Hunt held with Montevallo, realeased in November 2014.

The lyrics are beautiful, I think all of us can associate this song with some point of our lives. The use of a muted bass and drums, piano and strings makes the emotion of the lyrics crawl right out and grab you. Makes for a perfect song, in my opinion.

If you enjoy Cam’s Burning house, check out more of her music on her official youtube channel. There are also some great performers on the Grand Old Opry you tube channels, you can search it, and you really should!

If you enjoy her music as much as I do, make sure you buy it. You can find the information you need to make your purchase from Cam’s official website digitally, or hit up your local record shop for a cd.

Have you heard this song before? What are your thoughts? Is my obsession with music unhealthy? Sound off and let me know in the comment section below!
