In The Spotlight – Music Mash

I have been a little busy and haven’t really blogged a lot in the last month or so. I also have been posting mostly about food lately. The problem I have run in to is that I have a lot of spotlight artists and bands I really want to do, but I am still waiting on permission to use things, and waiting to have images sent to me. I prefer to do things legally, and when dealing with unsigned bands, images aren’t always public domain, therefore you run into problems. It becomes a hurry up and wait game.
I have made contacts with some INCREDIBLE unsigned and small label artists, and I really want to share them with you. They deserve their day in the sun… Plus one of my biggest passions is spreading musical “crack” and I adore local type bands who are working so hard getting noticed outside of their home towns. As a DJ, I love it when a local band sends me their music and says, “hey, can you play this when you dj?” I usually do when the recording is a good quality. I love music, I love feeling like that “priest” who spreads the gospel of music.
Since linking to a band’s official youtube videos is legal (unless they say you can not, and its clear on their page, pay attention to that, kids!), I am going to do a mini spotlight of some of the bands and artists I really think need to be out there in the spotlight. This is going to be a mixed genre post.
As always, if you enjoy the music, BUY IT!!
In The Spotlight – A Mini Artist and Band List
1. Joshua Adams – Amazing artist! Singer, songwriter, management, publishing, producing.. and the talents this man has goes on for miles. I love his music, I love his voice. He has that Chris Cornell/Myles Kennedy incredibility about him.
He has in the past worked with/alongside artists such as: Emerson Drive, Alabama, Jason Scheff/Chicago, Mark Slaughter, Buddy Jewel, Scott Stapp, Lauryn Hill, Lionel Richie, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, and Saving Abel. Hell of a resume don’t you think?

2. Unparalleled Height – I logged into check email and noticed I had a new follower and private message on twitter.. I ran over and had a link to their music. LOVE AT FIRST LISTEN!! These young men ROCK… If you love bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine… you will become instant fans of this band. They are from the Pittsburgh, PA area, and are on an Indy Label… you all know how much I love Indy bands. 🙂

“Breaking The Chain” is the first song I heard from UPH. I love it. 🙂 Get ready to MOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Update Aug 3, 2017* After going through my website to find dead links and videos, Breaking The Chain video is gone. I am updating with a different video from the band.
3. The Melting Clock – STEAMPUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this genre… it’s a PASSION, kind of like the blues and a good moshpit… This band is another contact through twitter… and I am shocked to say they are UNSIGNED!! That’s a crime… at least it should be!
The Melting Clock
is part human, part machine. Fusing elements of industrial, psychedelia, and electronica,
with traditional instrumentation, the band lurks in the back alley, behind the
vaudevillian stage.

Poe… another passion of mine…. and Poe and Steampunk go hand and hand!
