Girl Crush – Who Covered It Best?
One of my current Songs of the Moment is “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town. I can’t stop singing that song in my head on constant repeat or listening to it. While cruising through You Tube as I often do, I said to myself, “Self… let’s see if there are any bad ass covers of “Girl Crush” on You Tube besides Meghan Linsey from The Voice”. As soon as she stepped onto the stage for her blind audition, I knew exactly who she was… STEEL MAGNOLIA!!! WOOHOO, I am glad to see shes’ back doing what she does so brilliantly well, even if the Crown Prince of Country, Blake Shelton, didn’t turn around for her… (What were you thinking, Blake??!!) I am just glad he stole her to keep her in it. I see her in the top 3, if not taking the whole she-bang.
Anyway, I digress. Meghan does a BAD ASS cover of “Girl Crush”, you just heard the proof…
So as I was saying, I was cruising You Tube… And to my surprise but EPIC HAPPINESS, I found the song covered by two of my current favorite female vocalists…

I love her rockin bluesy version so much. I think the reason I can’t decide is because of the differences in genres each lady pulls the song into. Meghan does it with an R&B flaire, Kelly with some bluesy soul. Just a great song all the way around. Thanks for commenting!
